OGS Getaway Weekend – June 12-13, 2015 – Kansas City, Missouri
Put on your flapper finery, grab your flask and join members of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh June 12-13 for a Roaring Twenties getaway celebrating the speakeasy spirit of Prohibition-era Kansas City. From our hideout in the Intercontinental Hotel, we’ll explore the city famous for jazz, barbecue, gangsters and one of the world’s largest Great War collections.

Mobsters, Mayhem and Merriment!
Prowl the ghosts of Prohibition past on a gangster-guided tour through Kansas City’s rich history of racketeers and raids. Then indulge your appetite with dinner at Kansas City’s famous Cupini’s. Period attire is encouraged and prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed gangster and flapper.
New Member Meet-and-Greet
After dinner return to the hotel speakeasy and gather with our newest OGS members in the beautiful Rooftop Bar overlooking the famous Country Club Plaza.
Saturday, June 13
Pick your adventure
Enjoy a day dedicated to exploring Kansas City icons and treasures.
- BBQ Backstage. Enjoy lunch and a cooking demo with Chef Richard W. McPeake, former grand champion of the American Royal BBQ Competition.
- Tanks, Trenches and Testimony. Visit Kansas City’s National World War I Museum, one of the largest Great War collections in the world.
- On Your Own. Indulge and luxuriate at the beautiful Country Club Plaza with its first-rate shopping, pampering and people-watching.
Shillelagh Finale
Celebrate the OGS spirit at our biennial dinner and induction ceremony welcoming new members as they pick up their shillelaghs.
